Nos graduamos!! (We graduated!!)

Posted: December 12, 2009 in 2009

Now ends one chapter of our lives…  We have officially graduated from the Spanish Institute!!

Graduation with our awesome friend Amy

We are so relieved to finally be done with our schooling.  I don’t know if I could have handled another trimester of classes. My head was so full of grammar and conjugations that my brain was about to rupture in my head! Luckily for us, God won’t give us more than we can handle!

Its funny to look back at the year, because we have learned so much from our classes and yet we feel that we barely know anything at all!  This year was hard, but at the same time is was necessary for us walk this path. We are SO grateful for the opportunity to have studied this language.  We are far from 100% fluent, but God gave us what we needed and it has prepared us to be able to learn as we go within the streets of His next destination for our lives.

With this chapter closing, the next one begins.  We are super excited to finally go back home for a short time to see all of family in Tulsa, OK and Denver, CO.  It has been a full year since we’ve been in the States and we are looking forward to it!

Even though we are extremely excited to go back to the states to see everyone, we are probably even more excited to return back to Costa Rica to begin the work that God has for us here.  We have an amazing opportunity to serve with 6:8 Ministries here in Alajuelita, Costa Rica.  6:8 Ministries hosts short term mission trips for teams from the states allowing them opportunities to serve in a community that really needs help.  The focus of 6:8 is both on the teams that come down (a short term trip radically changed my life) as well as the community of Alajuelita that they work in.  Even though we are still in the midst of the paperwork needed to become a part of 6:8 Ministries, Amanda and I haven’t been this excited about the work of God since we’ve been in school.  God is totally confirming within us what His will is and the result is a fiery explosion in our hearts!

We want to thank you each one of you who have stood beside us even though we were thousands of miles away.  Thank you for covering us with your prayers and constantly battling with and for us.  Thank you for making the sacrifice to sow financial seed into the vision that God has given us!  With all sincerity, without you guys, we would have never made it. We are so grateful for your faithfulness!!

We’re so excited about the direction God is bringing us!  And we’re so excited that you guys are a part of it!!
